One in Five Americans Struggle with Mental Illness

Now more than ever, it is crucial to recognize how normal symptoms of indecisiveness, stress, unexplained weight changes and lack of motivation occur. Mental health is connected through environmental, psychosocial and genetic factors affecting our need to feel happy, motivated and fulfilled. Through systematic reasoning, I offer an evidence-based approach to treatment, using specialized psychometric tools to measure anxiety and mood outcomes to encourage improvement of those outcomes over time. We will also work together to process your symptoms understanding that they can result from both situational influences as well as chemical imbalances in the brain.

Treatment Specialties

Medication Management

Through a detailed history, we will take a multi-modal approach to address problems such as treatment resistant depression, also known as TRD. Recording your vitals and discussing how your physical health conditions contribute to your mental health symptoms, together we will work towards better and brighter days and minimize potential side effects commonly seen in psychotropic therapies.

Anxiety Disorders

Develop from a complex set of risk factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events. As the most common mental illness in the US they affect 40M adults 18 and older nationwide. Only 36.9% of those suffering seek out treatment even though anxiety disorders are highly treatable.*

Trauma & PTSD

3.6% of the US adult population experienced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the past year. 67% of people exposed to mass violence have been shown to develop PTSD, a higher rate than those exposed to natural disasters or other types of traumatic events.**

Depression

Depression is one of the most prevalent mental health conditions in the US. Still, the rates of depression are rising among adolescents to greater than 1 in 20 children age 6-17 being found to have current anxiety or depression by parent report.*

LBGTQI

There is strong evidence that members of this community are at a higher risk for experiencing mental health challenges, especially depression and anxiety disorders. LGB adults are more than 2x's as likely, with transgender individuals being nearly 4x's as likely as heterosexual adults to experience a mental health condition. Additionally this community also faces discrimination, prejudice, denial of civil and human rights, harassment, and family rejection potentially leading to new or worsened symptoms.***
